【摘要】:Thistestmethod,usedforspecificationpurposes,differentiatesbetweenlubricatinggreaseshavinglow,medium,andhighlevelofextreme-pressureproperties.Theresultsdonotnecessarilycorrelatewithresultsfromservice.Itisnotedthatlubricatinggreasesthathaveastheirfluidcomponentasilicone,halogenatedsilicone,oramixturecomprisingsiliconefluidandpetroleumoil,arenotapplicabletothismethodoftest.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheload-carryingpropertiesoflubricatinggreases.Twodeterminationsaremade:1.1.1Load-WearIndex(formerlycalledMean-HertzLoad),and1.1.2WeldPoint,bymeansoftheFour-BallExtreme-Pressure(EP)Tester.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
